Consumer Spending & COVID-19 

 

Chase Merchant Services conducted a pulse survey in Canada and the US to find out how COVID-19 has impacted their outlook, lifestyle, behaviour and spending patterns; and how we may differ from our neighbours south of the border.

All findings are based on Canadian responses except where we’ve provided American responses as well for comparison.

Survey conducted by AR&D on behalf of JPMorgan Chase between December 29, 2020 and January 4, 2021. Surveys were conducted in English and French using online panel sample stratified by Gender, Age (Adults 18+), and Province / Census region. Total sample size = 1,201 (601 Canada; 600 U.S.) with a margin of error of +/- 2.8% at 95% confidence level (+/-4% by country).
